July 12, Friday Join Audubon birder, Zack Zdinak, for a cool morning walk in an aspen grove looking and listening for breeding songbirds. Western Wood Pewee, Western Tanager, Steller's Jay and Williamson's Sapsucker are likely. From Flagstaff, drive north on Rt. 180 5.5 miles past the Snowbowl turnoff. Watch for a dirt parking area on the left (west) side of the road. Meet at this site a 7:30 am for a two hour walk. Bring your binoculars, water, snack and sun gear. (From the top of Humphreys Street, this is 12.5 miles north on 180.) |
